Providing unpaid care for loved ones with Alzheimers can be emotionally and physically stressful. Caregivers often do not have access to the on-demand support that they need in their daily lives.

Our research team at Indiana University is conducting a pilot study to find out more about how to design online social support programs for caregivers. We want to find out how social media can be used for building social support. We believe online programs are most successful when caregivers do not feel isolated, are encouraged to participate and find activities meaningful for obtaining informational and emotional support.
